Senior Bible Study and Growth — Tues., 10:30–11:30 AM
The deacon leads a study of the Gospels at The Patrician, a senior living facility, 4025 Pulitzer Place, San Diego, CA 92122. All are welcome. We gather with refreshments and mutual greeting, followed by a time of study and reflection. We are currently studying the Gospel of Mark.
The Catechumenate (pronounced Kat-ah-kum-inate) is a beginning process of education and formation in the Christian Faith. It includes an introduction to the basics of the Christian Faith – Creed, Sacraments, Law and Good News, Prayer, Scripture, and Fellowship. This process prepares individuals, by way of group exploration and instruction, for membership in the Lutheran Church. It is held for 8 weeks. Two sessions are offered each year, one in the fall and one in spring. The process culminates with the rites of Affirmation of Faith for those previously confirmed, and Confirmation for those not yet confirmed. If you are interested in participating, please contact firstname.lastname@example.org.
